Kathleen I. Murphy Maguire graduated in 1993 with a bachelor of science degree in Education. She began her basketball career at St. Edmund's High School before moving on to Molloy College. She was a four-year starter and a prolific three-point shooter. Kathleen is a member of the Molloy College 1,000 Point Club. She is currently tied for second in points scored with 1,587. Kathleen is no stranger to Hall of Fame Inductions, as she was previously inducted into the Brooklyn-Queens Girls High School Basketball Hall of Fame and the St. Edmund's High School Hall of Fame.

Kathleen is in her sixteenth year as an elementary school teacher in P.S. 119, where she is also a part-time physical education instructor. She continued her education beyond Molloy College achieving a master's degree in Special Education plus 30.
Kathleen married her high school sweetheart, Bob. They reside in Islip with their three children, 13-year old Rob, 11-year old Kate, and nine-year old Joe. Although her basketball career has ended, she has remained active coaching her own children.
