Barbara Walsh Trachtenberg '95

Softball

Barbara Walsh Trachtenberg grew up in Central Islip, New York and attended St. Anthony’s High School.  At St. Anthony’s, Barbara was an outstanding student and softball player.  Her success continued at Molloy graduating in 1995 cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and Business Management and a minor in Philosophy.  She received honors in Business Management, Mathematics and Philosophy and was the recipient of the Molloy College Scholar-Athlete Award.

Barbara was an active member of the Student Government Association holding the position of Secretary.  Her leadership attributes extended to the softball diamond where she co-captained the 1995 squad.  Barbara’s softball career had many highlights, especially in 1995 when the team finished as NYCAC and ECAC Champions.  Barbara was named Most Valuable Player of the ECAC Tournament.
 
Barbara holds the Molloy College record for victories (70), is third in ERA (2.62) and fourth in strikeouts (164).  Her single season achievements include, fifth and seventh in ERA (1.94 in 1992 and 2.27 in 1995), tenth in strikeouts (56 in 1995) and first and second in wins (30 in 1995 and 19 in 1994).  In 1995, her 30 wins ranked seventh in the NCAA Division II.  Her career record is 70-44 with a 2.62 ERA and 164 strikeouts.
 
Upon graduation from Molloy College, Barbara enrolled at Boston College Law School where she continued to be active in student activities.  She was involved with the Boston College Uniform Commercial code Reporter-Digest as a staff writer in 1996-97 and Editor-in-Chief in 1997-98.  Barbara graduated cum laude in 1998 receiving the Lyne, Woodworth and Evarts Award for outstanding editorial work on Publications.
 
Barbara met her husband, Jon Trachtenberg at Boston College Law School and they currently reside in Andover, Massachusetts with their cat, Dodger.  Barbara is a senior associate in the real estate department of the Boston office of D.L.A. Piper Rudnick Gray Cary US L.L.P.  This is the second largest law firm in the world.
