SOFTBALL TO BE HONORED BY NEW YORK METS ON JULY 20
FLUSHING, N.Y. - On Friday, July 20, the Molloy College softball team will be recognized at Citi Field by the New York Mets in a pre-game ceremony, prior to a 7:10 p.m. contest against the National League West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers. Several members of the squad will be on hand, in celebration of their East Coast Conference title-winning season.

THREE LIONS NAMED TO DAKTRONICS ALL-AMERICA SOFTBALL TEAMS
ROLLA, Mo. - Following an outstanding season where they posted a 47-13 record, and earned a berth into the NCAA Division II East Super Regional, three players from the Molloy College softball team have been honored for their performances as Daktronics All-Americans. Senior Carla Campagna and junior Jeana Frey were selected to the All-America third-team, while junior Kelley Jansen earned Honorable Mention accolades.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University softball team used a three-run second inning to down the Molloy College softball team in Game Two of the NCAA Division II East Super Regional at DeWitt Family Field on the campus of Yale University on Saturday afternoon. The two teams will now face off in a 3:30 p.m. rubber match, with the winner claiming the Division II East Region Crown and advancing to the College World Series in Louisville, Ky. this upcoming week.

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The No. 25 Molloy College softball team was eliminated from the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, after falling to Southern Connecticut State University, 9-2, in Game Three of the NCAA Division II East Super Region Tournament, 9-2. The Lions took Game One of the series at DeWitt Family Field in New Haven, Conn., in 15 innings on Friday, 7-3, before falling twice on Saturday.

ALEXANDER’S THREE-RUN SHOT SENDS NO. 25 SOFTBALL BY SCSU IN SUPERS
NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Sophomore Lauren Alexander hit a three-run home run in the top of the 15th inning to send the No. 25 Molloy College softball team to a 7-3 victory over No. 18 Southern Connecticut State University in Game One of the 2012 NCAA Division II East Super Regional at Yale University on Friday. That homer, combined with phenomenal pitching from juniors Kelley Jansen and Megan Butterworth, helped seal the big win for the Lions.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - From July 9-12, the Molloy College softball team has announced that it will be holding its annual Skills Clinic and Julie Bolduc's Pro Pitch, in two age-separated sessions, at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon for those 12-and-under, and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for 13-and-over.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - On Thursday, the College Sports Information Directors of America released its Division II Academic All-District Team for softball, and sophomore Nicolette Sinagra of Molloy College was selected to the first-team. Sinagra, who sports a 3.84 cumulative grade-point average in Speech-Language Pathology, is the Lions' first Academic All-District selection by CoSIDA/Capital One since Michelle Walsh in 2008.

Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The Lions won Game One, 3-1, before improving to take Game Two, 7-2. The Lions improved to 14-5 overall with the victories.

SOFTBALL ROUTS STAC IN DOUBLEHEADER SWEEP; 9-0, 10-0
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - The Molloy College softball team improved to a perfect 6-0 in East Coast Conference play on Friday afternoon, as the Lions completed a two-game sweep of visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The maroon and white won Game One, 9-0, before moving on to take Game Two, 10-0, improving their overall record to 12-5 in 2012.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. - In the first home game of the 2012 season, and the first in three years, since April 2009, the Molloy College softball squad convincingly took a pair of contests from American International College on Saturday at the Dean G. Skelos Sports Complex in Rockville Centre, N.Y. The Lions came out victorious in the opener of the twinbill by a result of 5-1, and blanked the Yellow Jackets in the nightcap, 5-0.

CLERMONT, Fla. – During its final trip this campaign to the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla., the Molloy College softball team split a double dip with University of Massachusetts - Lowell on Wednesday. The Lions won the opener by a score of 4-3 in 11 innings, before dropping a 4-0 decision in the nightcap.

SOFTBALL TAKES ONE OF THREE ON DAY THREE OF NTC GAMES
CLERMONT, Fla. – Due to heavy rain on Sunday, the Molloy College softball team battled in three contests on Tuesday in an effort to make up for cancellations at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla. The Lions got a win in one of three games on the day, earning their first win of 2012 in the process. As a result, Molloy went to 1-4 overall.

SOFTBALL INKS FOUR NAMES TO 2011-12 NATIONAL LETTER OF INTENT
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – This past week, Head Softball Coach Susan Cassidy-Lyke of Molloy College announced her National Letter of Intent signees for 2013, and four future Lions have signed contracts to become a member of next season’s squad. They are infielders Milan Botte, Jessica Thomas and Reina Torlincasi, as well as pitcher Samantha Sauer.

BUTTERWORTH, SINAGRA, WHITE TABBED AS NFCA ALL-AMERICA SCHOLARS
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Three players on the Molloy College softball squad have been dubbed All-America Scholar-Athletes by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association, the league publicized on Monday afternoon, for their hard work inside the classroom in the last academic year. They were sophomore hurler Megan Butterworth, freshman utility Nicolette Sinagra and freshman catcher/outfielder Dayna White. Meanwhile, the Lions also took home NFCA All-Academic Accolades as a program, after accumulating a cumulative grade-point average of 3.15 in 2010-11.

FOUR LIONS PICKED TO ATTEND NCAA REGIONAL CAREER IN SPORTS FORUM
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On Friday, the National Collegiate Athletic Association put out the list of student-athletes who have been selected to attend its Regional Career in Sports Forum, and four from Molloy College landed upon the ledger. The seminar will be held from October 7-9 on the University of Pittsburgh campus in Pittsburgh, Pa.
