Stony Brook, N.Y. - For the second-straight year, both cross country teams left the Golden Eagle Invitational with some hardware. The women's team earned 42 team points and had four runners finish in the top-10 en route to a first-place victory for the second time in as many seasons. 100 points on the men's side was good for third-place with two in the top-10 finishers.
Sophomore
Carli Sheiffele led the way for the Lions with a second-place finish, running the 5k course in a time of 19:36.70. Freshman
Martina Mileti followed right behind with a third-place tme of 20:01.40.Â
Senior
Alaysia Cobb (21:11.20) and
Anelisa Fulgieri (21:24.00) rounded out Molloy's top-10 runners taking seventh and tenth-place, respectively. Sophomore
Sophia Michaels rounded out the scorers with a time of 22:50.90 for 20th-place. Freshman
Kate Mejia placed 33rd with a time of 24:28.10.

On the men's side, junior
Peter Bagattine bested all runners with a first-place 8k time of 28:22.00. Senior
James Nichol also finished in the top-10 with an eighth-place time of 29:08.90.Â
Freshman Mikai Marks (29:48.30),
John Abad (30:20.70), and
Jeovany Villatoro (35:29.20) all scored for the Lions while sophomore
Gabriel Adimoolah rounded out Molloy's runners at 37:06.00.
Both teams will return to action on Saturday (Sept. 20) at the Purple Valley Classic, hosted by Williams College, from Williams, Mass.
